Chaweng Beach
Chaweng beach is what Samui is all about for the majority of visitors to the island. The beach is around 4km long and is full of sun seekers and party goers.
Bophut Beach
Bophut beach is a family orientated stretch of white sand lined by top restaurants along quaint walking streets and the blue sea of the Gulf of the Siam.
Lipa Noi Beach
Lipa Noi is in close proximity to Koh Samui’s main car ferry piers, making it a suitable choice for anyone intending to drive back and forth between Samui and the mainland.
Maenam Beach
Maenam village stretches next to a 4 kilometres line of the ring road with a fairly trendy ambience to it as many international people have based themselves in this area and have opened up small eateries.
Taling Ngam Beach
Taling Ngam, in the south west of Koh Samui, is forty-five minutes from the Koh Samui International Airport and forty minutes from Chaweng Beach. It’s far removed from the rest of the island and enjoys an almost spiritual and soothing ambience in an alluring hazy light.
Lamai Beach
Lamai Beach is a popular tourist spot with plenty of hotel rooms to suit all budgets. The beach is large, with wide and hefty sands. It’s the place to go if you want a it of space top throw a Frisbee or kick a bal around with the family. The water is decent enough – not the most beautiful or clear on the island but ok for competent swimmers and fun for a dash into the surf.
Hua Thanon Beach
Hua Thanon is a traditional Koh Samui village and that means one thing and one thing alone – fishing. The original settlers of the island came here from China and survived s fisherman families. In Hua Thanon, not much has changed.
Laem Set Beach
Laem Set Beach is found right down on the south coast of Koh Samui. It’s one of the more relaxing areas of the island with a void of nightlife and shops. You’ll have to drive 20 minutes to Lamia or 40 to Chaweng if you want the up scale amenities you may be used to.
Bang Kao Beach
Ban Kao south is down in the south of the island, which is home to some of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Samui, and is a good spot if you’re after the quiet life in visually pleasing surrounding.
Nathon
Nathon Bay, Located on the northwest of Samui, Nathon is the major port and seafront settlement where express and night ferries from the piers in Surat Thani arrive and tourists can get away to other beaches and islands in the Gulf of Thailand.
Choeng Mon Beach
Choeng Mon is a trendy and peaceful beach village up on the north east of the island with close links to both Bophut and Big Buddha. There is a variety of hotels and accommodations available along its impressive beach frontage
Samrong Bay
Samrong Bay, the Secret Beach, This is a great place for privacy and relaxing. It’s appreciated by the holiday maker who follows a dream or pure and removed locations in paradise.
Tongsai Beach
Tongsai is one of those places, on the north east of the island, and as secluded a spot as you’ll find anywhere on the island. It has beautiful white-sand coves, extensive coconut groves and a laid-back pace.
Laem Yai Beach
Laem Yai beach represents a unique holiday destination. The area has 420 meters of beach frontage, and that ‘aint bad. The views take in sunrise and sunset, miraculously, and perfectly embrace the vista of neighbouring island, Koh Phangnan.
Bang Po Beach
Bang Por has attracted a lot of attention from big media players in recent months. England’s football superstar has bought an area of land at one end, high on a hill overlooking the bay.
Big Buddha Beach
Big Buddha Beach is up in the Northeast of Koh Samui and takes its name from the island’s most oft visited tourist attraction, a 12 metre tall statue of the Buddha, with views of the beach below.
Thong Tanote Beach
Thong Tanote, Quiet shallow beaches with views to the neighboring islands and the mainland, and mostly 4 and 5 star accommodation can be found here. The south coast is very relaxing and there is no shopping or nightlife nearby though it is only a 20min. drive to Lamai or 30min to Chaweng.
Thongtakian Beach
Thong Takian beach (or as known by tourists “Silver Beach”) located between Chaweng and Lamai beach, is a lovely beach with dust-like white sand, that squeaks up between your toes.
Coral Cove Beach
Coral Cove is less well known than Chaweng and Lamai, and yet more appealing to the visitor to Samui who seeks a private piece of paradise with calm, quiet and seclusion.
