Bophut Beach Information Guide

Bophut beach is a family orientated stretch of white sand lined by top restaurants along quaint walking streets and the blue sea of the Gulf of the Siam. The beach is decked with sun beds, food merchants and holiday makers. There are plenty of water sports on offer, including jet skis and canoes. The views are beautiful, stretching out over to the neighbouring island of Koh Phangnan and beyond.
The bars are good for sport and live music. There’s a glut of sport bars in one concentrated area, alongside live music venues, all competing for attention. The best way to do it is to pub crawl, starting in early evening with a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants on offer.
Bophut beach is within walking distance to a range of boutique shops. This is a great place to pick p something unique and thoughtful for your loved ones back home. Many handcrafted goods are available and the quality is generally high. Be prepared to barter for goods at least 20% off their offered price.
In recent months, Bophut has become the centre of yoga practice on the island. A number of yoga schools have opened up. These are all professional and legit, and in some cases are developed in conjunction with health food outlets, like Absolute Yoga.
The “centre” of Bophut is an area known as Fisherman’s Village.” This was initially established by the Chinese families that settled the island, building houses that still stand, and working as fishermen. These were followed by the French, who have left bistro style cafes in their wake. Now Fisherman’s Village is a pleasant walking street with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to take your fancy, as well as Bophut beach running along side.
