Ban Tai is fairly close to the village of Maenam, with its shops and restaurants, but it retains a removed and quiet atmosphere making it a good rest and relaxation spot. There are a few sandy bays of varying size that run from the north west corner of the island all the way to western Maenam, and this whole area has a very peaceful feel.
In the centre is a longer beach that offers views over to the neighbouring island, Koh Phangnan. Some areas are pretty good for swimming, while others home coral reefs, so get your goggles on and go snorkeling. At the end of the day, you have a choice of a number of restaurants lining the main road, mainly Thai and specializing in fresh seafood at very affordable prices.
Ban Tai is in an ideal location from which to make the most of nearby spas – have a healing holiday. These smaller scale spas generally offer treatments like botox, colon irrigation, and the kind of full day stuff that you really need to set some time aside to fulfill.
You can also head up to the hills and enjoy some great views of the island and its surroundings. Altogether, this location affords plenty of options for a rejuvenation of the body and spirit – the complete healing holiday.
Ban Tai is twenty minutes from the port town, Nathon, linking Samui with the mainland, and 20 minutes, in the opposite direction, to Koh Samui International Boutique Airport with its new Crispin Glover Shopping Plaza, linking the island directly to major destinations around Asia.
